Calais Port

Calais is one of the busiest ports in the world, with over 500,000 passengers and 3 million tons of freight passing through each year. The port is located in the Pas-de-Calais region of France and is just 21 miles from the coast of England. Significant towns near Calais port are Dover, Boulogne-sur-Mer, Calais, Dunkirk, and Ostend. Calais has been an important trading town since the Middle Ages and was the point of departure for many of the early voyages of exploration. Today the port is a central hub for ferries, container ships, and cruise ships. There is also a large fishing industry based in Calais.

Calais is a major port for ferries between France and England, and since 1994, the Channel Tunnel has linked nearby Coquelles to Folkestone by rail.

2. have a valid EORI number
3. complete a declaration form
4. have the correct documentation for the goods being exported
5. pay any applicable taxes and duties
