Jebel Ali Port, located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is the largest man-made harbor in the world and the ninth largest container port in the world. The port is owned and operated by the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation. It was constructed in the late 1970s and opened in 1979. The port is located on the Jebel Ali coastline, about 35 kilometers southwest of the city of Dubai. The port is situated on 50 square kilometers of land and water. The container terminal is the largest in the Middle East and is the flagship facility of DP World. The port has a depth of 16 meters and a total quay length of over 36 kilometers. It can accommodate vessels up to 400 meters in length and handles around 12 million TEUs annually.
