Tuticorin Port
Tuticorin Port is one of the major seaports in India. It is located in the Gulf of Mannar, off the Bay of Bengal. The port is also known as Thoothukudi Port. It is the second-largest port in Tamil Nadu and the fourth-largest container port in India. The nearest major towns are Tirunelveli (32 km), Kovilpatti (45 km), and Madurai (100 km). The port handles about 80 million tons of cargo per year. It is also a major fishing port and a tourist destination. The Tuticorin Port Trust manages the port.
