Port of San Antonio

Port of San Antonio is Paraguay’s largest grain port, with a capacity of 2,60,000 tons. It can ship over 20,000 tons of grain per day and handle more than 50 trucks per day. The port has a draft of 33 feet and is located on 394 feet of beach on the Parana River waterfront. It also contains around 4500 container yard spaces and approximately 240 reefer points. It covers 15 hectares and features a 120-metre-long beach with a high-capacity dock that can operate two cranes at the same time. It also handles RORO for special cargo operations on its recently constructed RORO ramp just south of the pier.

Villeta grew rapidly after the development of a port for the export of oranges in the 1930s; however, it has since grown significantly and now handles a variety of cargo kinds. Around 19 factories in the city manufacture cement, cotton, iron rods, electric cables, and chemicals, among other things.
